Theosophical Gallery Tours

London’s Galleries and Museums are a storehouse of all the world’s riches, many of which have meaning from a Theosophical perspective.

Holidays: We are closed (Gloucester Place, London) Sundays & Mondays, 4th - 5th May and 25th - 26th May

Location: We are situated on the east side of Gloucester Place between Blandford and Dorset Streets. Many northbound bus routes have stops near 50 Gloucester Place. Baker Street and Marble Arch are the nearest underground train stations.

Our building is open on Sundays from 4 pm and on days when there is a seminar doors open at 1.00 pm. We regret that admission for seminars will not be granted after 2.15 pm
All meetings arranged by the Foundation for Theosophical Studies unless indicated otherwise.
No one will be refused entry because of inability to pay listed prices


THE THEOSOPHICAL MOVEMENT

The Theosophical Society was founded in New York City in 1875 and is now active in 60 countries. Its three principal founders were Helena P. Blavatsky, a Russian noblewoman, Henry S. Olcott, a retired Civil War Colonel, and William Q. Judge, an Irish lawyer. A few years later the Society moved its world headquarters to Adyar, Chennai (Madras), India

Membership is open to all accepting the Society's three declared objects, namely
1. To form a nucleus of the Universal Brotherhood of humanity
without distinction of race, creed, sex, caste or colour
2. To encourage the study of comparative religion, philosophy and science
3. To investigate unexplained laws of nature and the powers latent in man

The annual subscription in the English Section of the Society is £40 (£20 concessions). . Financial hardship shall not be a barrier to membership.

Branches: There are currently 38 branches belonging to The Theosophical Society in England. Regular meetings are organized at 50 Gloucester Place, by Blavatsky Lodge (Thursdays at 6.45 pm) and Dhyana Centre (Tuesdays and Fridays at 7 pm)

METAPHYSICAL LIBRARY

Library: We have a large collection of books for loan covering topics such as Theosophy, Astrology, Mythology, Comparative Religion and Western Occultism. Subscriptions from £12; postal lending available. Open: Tuesday to Friday 2 to 7pm (library closes 6.30) Sundays 4 to 8.30 (when there is a public lecture) Closed Mondays & Saturdays.
